By chance, I ended up driving down 17th Street on Bellingham's picturesque South Hill and was awestruck by the grand old homes and the magical setting overlooking Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands. I made the decision then to somehow make Bellingham my home and by 1979 that dream had become a reality.
